WHAT PATIENTS SAY...

After several referals to the Ear, Nose and Throat specialists and two MRI scans which thankfully showed no abnormalities, I was nevertheless told that there was no cure for the Tinnitus and I was resigned to having the problem for the rest of my life.

Dr Yu identified the cause of the problem as trapped nerves in my neck and back, resulting in a reduced flow of blood into my head. This poor circulation was responsible for my Tinnitus and associated problems of constant back pain, headaches and frequent bouts of dizziness.

I had several treatments at Sun Hie Acupuncture over the last four weeks and have been on a course of herbal medicines and the improvement is my condition has been absolutely remarkable. My Tinnitus has been reduced to such an extent that at it's loudest it may be a two out of ten, and often it is sometimes not noticable at all. Before Dr Yu's treatment it was a constant eight to ten out of ten (and somtimes a twelve!!) Also my back has been pain free for the first time in 10 years.

I am so pleased that I decided to try acupuncture and I would have no hessitation in using it again and I certinaly recommend it.

I started having pains in my left shouder since I began to play the violin. It gradually turned into a repetitive strain injury and would flare each time I played or sat at my desk looking at books or my computer.

Now that I am at university, I have joined an orchestra that rehearses for threee hours a week. I could never play for too long on my own and I found music and study very painful for a sustained period of time, almost becoming unbearable. I would treat my neck and shoulder using hot water bottles and ibuprofen, however they only temporarily releived the symptoms.

I decided that I needed to seek a different approach to lessen the symptoms. I came to Dr Yu after hearing her work highly recommended in Whitley bay. She explainedthe basic principles of Chinese Medicine to me, a little of which I am familiar due to my Chinese heritage. I found that Chinese health followed a great logic; it is a holistic approach to health and wellness. A person must be balanced in life, both emotionally as well as physically to be receptive to a cure.

Dr Yu treated my symptoms using acupuncture. Acupunture involves placing fine sterile needles just below the surface of the skin at specific presure points on the body. This is beleived to open energy channels and focus the body on healing itself. I found  the whole experience very relaxing and not at all painful. A tingling sensations can be felt whilst the needles are in place and this is known as the 'de chi', the desired effect of acupuncture.

After a few sessions of acupuncture, I felt my shoulder and neck were much more relaxed and not prone to fatigue as quickly. I would recommend Dr Yu and acupuncture to treat any kind of Joint or muscle pain that is poorly managed by everyday medicines. The great beenfit of Chinese medicine is that it has no side effects whatsoever.

Hello. My name is George and I am 60 years old. I have had Psoriasis on my body and scalp for the last 35 years at least. I have tried many remedies and treatments over the years including; coal tar, UVB light therapy, Dithranol, allergy tests, Dovonex, etc... I have also tried some Chinese herbalists at least 2, with little to no avail.

Then one day while in Whitley Bay I came across the Sun Hie Chinese Acupunture and Healthy Living Centre

and decided to try the herbal treatment for one month to see what happened. To my delight after only a few days I could see and feel something happening, my psoriais lesions were not as red and some even clearing with no flaking and I am sure with a few more weeks of treatment I will be totally free of this very stuborn and tenacious skin condition.

Many Thanks to Dr Xiao Xi Yu.

Three years ago, following the flu, I suffered from dizziness and nausea. The room would spin round when I moved my head. This lasted for almost five months.

Tablets from my GP reduced the sickness but didn't help the dizziness. It made work and home life very difficult.

Like many people, I did not want to pay for private medicine as I hoped that the NHS could find solutions. My GP told me that at my age this condition (labyrinthitis) could last a long time and probably would recur.

In deperation, I went to a Chinese acupuncturist who said confidently he could help me. I asked how long it would take. "5 to 6 sessions", he said. After 2 sessions, I felt considerably better, and after 5, I was back to normal. This was both a suprise and a great relief.

The vertigo did come back two years later. This time I didn't wait; I went straight for acupuncture, this time with Dr Yu in the Sun hie Chinese Acupuncture clinic in Whitley bay. It took only a couple of sessiosn to clear up.
